CHARACTER TRAITS / PERSONALITY:

Ben at first should appear to be a normal male student. He should have a casual and carefree attitude, with both his nature and choice of clothing, as he isn't meant to show remorse for his actions. He is also the dominant male of the three hostage takers. He seems to be the driving force of the three, and takes physical control over the female hostages. Ben has a disturbed outlook on life, which leads him to show his sadistic side within the extract. Ben comes across as menacing and aggressive towards his ‘ladies’. He strives most to get his own way and keep every situation under control by any means necessary. Ben want the attention of females and to be desired, to such an extent he is blinded, and doesn't fully understand the crimes he and his room mates are committing. Whilst being physically strong, Ben comes across as mentally weak or unstable. Ben should be tall and of an average build with blond hair. He sometimes appears quite menacing because of his stature compared to his hostage who should be smaller than him. Ben is quite a delusional character, believing that Lola and Kate enjoy the crimes they commit towards them.

FUNCTION: 
Ben serves as the main Antagonist of the entirety of the film, offering up a disciplinary role. He is perceived as the villain and mastermind of the whole plot. Ben offers up the brawn of the trio and helps keep the hostages under control. He uses brute force and strength to attack Lola and Kate when they ‘get out of hand’; this ultimately leads to the death of Lola. He also takes the role of the leader, making Will and Chris do the dirty work when necessary.
