Production - Designing a title sequence.

We wanted to create a more unique title sequence rather than just simple text on a plain background. We used a programme called LiveType, which is specifically used to create title sequences. We imported the beginning 30 seconds of our film to the programme and began looking at font's. We wanted a font similar to the one found on the "The Island of Dr. Moreau" which had sharper edges. White was the best colour as if stood out the most.


Then we added two motion effects. Firstly, a fade in and fade out so the text would emerge from the footage rather than just spontaneously appear and then disappear. We also added an effect called "Haunted" which made the text blur and shake on screen, not in-similar to the effect used on the titles of "Se7en" , as well as giving it a subtle glow. We moved the letters around so they had a jumbled looked, and weren't positioned with care, symbolising the hysterical behaviour of the three males in our film. We also tilted the text, hinting that something is not quite right. We were careful not to obstructed the audience, and tried to put the text in places where little action was taking place.
