OCCUPATION: Unknown, more than likely student.

CHARACTER TRAITS / PERSONALITY:

Kate is the younger sister of Ben, the other hostage. She has seen the death of one teenager, Charlie who attempted to escape from ‘mum’ and ‘dad’. She has always been a naturally quiet and timid character. She keeps her mouth shut and to let ‘mum’ and ‘dad’ carry on as they want and hope that some day they will be free. When we first see Kate she is wearing jeans and a t-shirt, with black make-up running down her face from the crying after her kidnap. She knows how the Clarke's work and has been terrified by what happened to Charlie. She thinks that she won't be free any time soon, so she simply sits back and hopes. Kate allows Lola and Ben to lead the escape as she's the weakest of the three. Kate plays mind games with 'mum' to manipulate her. Kate almost like Ben's child rather than his sibling. 

FUNCTION:

Kate knows what she can and can’t get away with around 'mum' and 'dad', and feels there is no way out. When Lola gets taken away by ‘dad’, Kate starts to scream to try and make ‘dad’ leave Lola alone because she knows what happened to Charlie. She's doesn't take any physical punishment and tries to adopt the role of the ideal child . She is timid and provides the sympathy and helpless element of the three hostages.
